Volunteering with the Scouts

11th / 9th Cambridge is a local scout group based in Newnham, about 5–10 mins from Queen’s College, within easy walking or cycling distance. We’re an active group with five meetings a week Mondays–Thursdays (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers) and two to three camping trips a year.

The aims of Scouting are to provide fun, challenge and adventure, which can result in you organising and taking part in a range of different activities from hikes, wide games and cooking over open fires, to making smoke bombs, go-karts, and learning circus skills.

We have a great team of leaders running activities for local young people from 6 to 18 years old but we’re always keen to welcome new people and ideas into our group. Many of our leaders are from the student body, so we understand the time pressures and can be flexible as commitments change.

We’d be delighted to invite you to come and meet us and see what Scouting involves. No previous Scouting experience is necessary! If you are interested please contact us here: http://newnhamscouts.org.uk/contact-us/.
